Intimate Wedding at Peterson Dumesnil House Louisville, Kentucky

The night I took their engagements I knew I wanted to be friends. This wedding was incredibly special to me and they are freakin’ beautiful humans so the gallery was impossible to narrow down. Buckle up.

They hosted around 30 people at the historical Peterson Dumesnil House in their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. There were black details with gold accents and rich jewel tone florals. Blake designed all the paper and signage and Jacquelyn looked straight out of an old film with her smooth silhouette and hollywood waves. It was the epitome of classic and timeless with just enough of a modern twist.

They did a first look on the porch and read their own vows. Overall, we had a lot of time to play and that is such a gift - when I have time to think and just let you be. You get more than just pretty photos, but photos that feel like you.

I always ask who or what is the most important person or detail besides your partner on the wedding day. Jacquelyn said her dad, because he has cancer and she understood this may be the last major life event they experience together. Their first look was one of my favorite moments.

It was intimate, relaxed and such a great time. I learned through this experience that while I love the wild weddings, I want more of this sprinkled in. Less hustle and bustle, traditions and things you’re told to do and more time soaking it in and doing what you want. The air in the room is different with smaller affairs like this too. Every single person in attendance is of the utmost importance to the couple, during the speeches it’s silent and there’s usually tears shed at every table. The love radiates. You can just feel it.

It helps that it didn’t really feel like work either, but more like ~super dressed up~ friends collaborating. They are the type of people you want to hang around and celebrate life with, always. I was honored to play a role in their day.
