Intimate Fall Wedding at Mattie’s Austin

This wedding featured a fall color palette from my dreams at the ever charming Mattie's Austin, where peacocks roam and the southern homestyle food is incredible. I love this venue because it is a hidden gem just south of downtown which still possesses characteristics of Austin from an earlier time. Its seclusion allows you to forget you're actually in a neighborhood and really brings in the feeling of intimacy at an event.

Soaking It In While Getting Ready

One of my favorite moments was when Mallory got dressed and her bridesmaids sat around drinking champagne and admiring. Nothing staged, just real life. I turned around to capture them and see her lifetime best friend, sitting quietly with tears in her eyes. Female friendship is my favorite.

Prioritizing Spending Time Together

Mallory and Brennan were very focused on presence for their wedding day versus running through a jam packed timeline and shot list and I believe it shows. I remember feeling very relaxed and that energy came from them both.

They did a first look and prioritized spending time together which I love! We found a secluded area at Mattie’s Austin where the couple could enjoy a few moments together after their first look. I always found it strange that couples are separate for the majority of their wedding day. Why not soak up every second and enjoy it together?

Intimate Reception at Mattie’s Austin

The reception was held under a clear top tent at the back of Mattie’s Austin, with guests seated at three long tables underneath strings of light. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming thanks to all of the unique touches that the couple added. As soon as the dance floor opened, Mallory and Brennan immediately got out there and spent most of the night dancing with their guests.

Getting to be a part of this beautiful, intimate wedding at Mattie’s Austin meant so much to me. Are you looking for a laid back photographer who loves capturing real life? Reach out to set up a call today!
