Black Tie Engagement Photos
My friends Alexis and Brad are the most extra ever and it's so much fun. They don't do anything half-ass, so it was no surprise for their engagement shoot they went ALL OUT. The black tie engagement photos captured exactly who they are as a couple so it was a blast bringing this shoot to life!
Vision for the Black Tie Engagement Photos
The vision took months to plan and there were hours spent building mood boards and coordinating with vendors, but the real star of the show was the red convertible. Brad drove the car almost two hours in fifty degree weather to my family’s ranch. He showed up bundled in a coat, gloves and wool trapper hat. We were thankful he took one for the team. ;)
Remote Session Location
We chose to shoot at the ranch because they started dating in high school (over a decade ago!), having met in their tiny hometown of 2,000 people. While their relationship has evolved and they’ve moved away and into the city, gravel roads lead them to each other. The ranch was the perfect spot for their black tie engagement photos as it brought them back to their roots.
Blending the Past and the Present
I love the juxtaposition of how who they were meets who they are now, together. They both enjoy the finer things in life. Brad wore a black tuxedo and Alexis a tiered, tulle dress. They ate cake and popped champagne and had the time of their lives riding in the car, decked out with florals.
What makes shoots like this so much fun is the team effort it took to bring it together and how authentic it was to who they are. Because that's a core value of mine, celebrating the real you–send me a message to inquire today.
