Laid Back Lake Travis Bachelorette Party

I’m excited to share my sister’s Lake Travis bachelorette party on the blog! She didn’t want the traditional bachelorette party, so we had to come up with something that was unconventional, but still allowed us to celebrate her. It was the perfect laid back way to celebrate the anti-bride to be!

Lake Travis Bachelorette Party

If you know my sister, she was a bit of an anti-bride during the wedding planning process. She would cringe at anything white that says "bride" or "Mrs," wearing matching outfits or bachelorette decor that was overtly sexual.

She drinks occasionally but didn't want the entire weekend revolving around getting drunk at a bar. Instead, requesting a relaxing and grown-up weekend on Lake Travis in Austin with her best friends. It was hard to find inspiration online that felt like her, so we created our own version for her ideal Lake Travis bachelorette party

Day One: Pajama Party

Everyone wanted to relax so we tried not to jam pack the itinerary. We rented a large house on the water and started off the weekend with massages. Night one ended with a pajama party where we began with setting intentions and sharing what Madelyne meant to us and then cackling our head’s off playing games.

Day Two: Boat Rental and Poolside Picnic

Day two we rented a boat on Lake Travis through Big Tex Boat Rentals and ended the day with an al fresco dinner party. The poolside picnic, which is featured in this post, was my FAVORITE part. I kept this a surprise so I was most looking forward to seeing her reaction (she loved it!)

My only regret is that I should have at least hired a friend of mine to take photos during dinner because it was a lot to balance on my own and still attempt to stay present.

Vendors Who Brought Our Vision to Life

Kayli of The Bloom Bar (who was also her wedding floral designer) did the florals while Candace of The Posh Picnic supplied the decor and set it up for us while we got ready. We had a private chef prepare an incredible Mexican dinner for the nine of us. It was delicious, intimate and so much fun. It was the perfect way to end the Lake Travis bachelorette party weekend centered around connection and friendship.

Many of my couples are non-traditional and really enjoyed hearing about her bachelorette party on instagram! Maybe you feel like a bit of an anti-bride (or groom), too. Maybe you want to experience the joy, community and FUN during this chapter of your life, but you’ve haven’t seen as much inspiration online that fully aligns with you. You can totally pave your own path... and hire me to document it. ;)
