Fall Portrait Session + Color Theory - Austin, Texas
This is a throwback, but I will continue to love these photos and the fun times Lyric and I had creating together. I have always had a thing for color theory, especially when mixing warm and cool tones (you’ll even see this in my branding with the pairing of orange and turquoise).
When I noticed this tree in my neighborhood on my daily walk with my dogs, I was stunned. It’s rare to see these kinds of colors in Austin but I’ll take any chance I can get! I googled it and apparently it’s called a Chinese Pistache tree, and it’s officially my favorite.
It was a near freezing November morning and we probably only took photos for 15min. She did her own makeup and I dressed her out of my closet and made sure to tease up the curls. Styling is one of my favorite parts of a session. It is so much fun to have a vision in your head and help put the pieces together. I was thrilled with the result and it reminded me why creating for ourselves is so important, even if it’s just playing dress up in your own neighborhood.
